DALLAS COWBOYS – IS IT TIME TO START LOOKING FOR THE QUARTERBACK OF THE FUTURE??

September 11, 2014

I posted the following article on January, 2013 before the 2013 NFL season.  We are now into the second season after it was written.  What has changed?……NOTHING!…Poor Tony Romo is not any better than he was back then and possibly worse off, still, Jerry Jones and company have not looked for a young quarterback to replace him.  The AT&T stadium is still overflowing every weekend and we (me too) watch every single game on television just to be disappointed once more.  How long is this torture going to continue?  As long as the stadium fills up and the Cowboys lead the NFL in merchandise sales, do we think Jerry Jones cares about the fans?  I thnk not!  He kept the poor incompetent Jason Garrett as head coach.  I’ve seen better plays called from the sidelines in peewee games.  This guy is not head coach material.  It’s time for him to go…now!  Bring somebody in that knows how to run a team!  Jones had at least one coach that could do that, however, he (Jones) didn’t like the fact that the  coach would not take any crap from him, so he let him go.  The rest of the coaches have been yes men.  Jerry Jones needs to let the coach do his job, but it has to be a real coach that does not let the owner get in the way of coaching and player management.  That is my humble opinion.  Please click on the bleacherreport.com article below to read Brad Gagnon’s January 2013 article on this subject:

Should the Dallas Cowboys draft a young future quarterback this year?  Tony Romo is getting up in football years (33) and I think now would be a good time to start looking for an outstanding college quarterback, if there are any good ones out there.  I can’t think of any, can you?  Maybe trade for a young guy that is already on an NFL team?  I don’t know much about college quarterbacks that are not in the headlines.  There might be a sleeper in the bunch, somewhere.  Anyway, please click below to read the following bleacherreport article on this subject by NFL East lead writer Brad Gagnon:
