Well, Dallas Cowboys fans, here we are after 8 games sitting at 3-5. Jerry Jones is overflowing Texas Stadium with bodies every game and like any other corporate bottom line owner, it seems that it’s all that counts. I can’t say he hasn’t loaded up the team with great talent, he has done that. What he hasn’t done is being a silent owner that hires a take charge general manager that hires a great coach who brings his own assistants with him and lets them do their thing. Jones needs to get out of the limelight. No more news conferences before and after each game. This guy is full of himself. Enough, stop! We want the Cowboys to win! Poor Jason Garrett. I can tell by watching him that he is a hell of a nice guy. Nice guys don’t win anything! He needs to go. Terrible play calling in the Atlanta game when it counted. I have been criticizing Tony Romo for a long time and I am beginning to turn his way. He still gets excited when he gets the rush, however, when the guys up front block, he is deadly. So, I apologize, Tony, it’s not entirely your fault. Some really critical passes were dropped when the Cowboys were moving the ball. The offensive line is still making some serious mistakes that possibly cost the team the game. The defensive secondary is porous as hell. I’m starting to think that it’s not the players themselves all the time, it’s the defensive schemes that the coaches design. The middle defensive backfield is always wide open. And tackling is horrendous. None of these guys wrap up. They body block and hope the runner falls. So, as for me, this are the things that the Dallas Cowboys owner needs to do: Jones, remove himself from the limelight. Hire a general manager who then hires a head coach that knows how to win. Mr. Jones, stay out of the coaching business! For the coaches: Practice discipline everyday to stop holding and pass interference on defense and false starts on offense. Tackling, tackling tackling. They need to wrap around not just push the other guy and hope he falls. This is basic stuff and shouldn’t be coming from an amateur like me. Maybe hire a high school coach to re-teach the players to tackle and not move on offense until the ball is snapped. Of course I’m kidding, I know, they are pros so why don’t they play like it? Also, I would like to see some input from readers on this blog concerning this subject. He suggests 5 things that Jerry Jones needs to do to get the Cowboys moving in a positive way again.
