DALLAS COWBOYS OWNER JERRY JONES SEEMS TO BE SATISFIED WITH THE STATUS-QUO

January 11, 2013

Mr. Jerry Jones got rid of a couple of coaches. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan had to go, however, in my opinion, running backs coach Skip Peete was used as a scape goat.  Jason Garrett was the one that should have gotten fired on the offensive side.  Peete was using the backs at the call of the head coach and I doubt he had much to say in the matter.  At least, that’s what I think.  The Cowboys need a thorough cleaning, from top to bottom.  Jerry Jones needs to be an owner only!  He needs to hire a real football general manager to run the team.  Jones is great at marketing the team and that’s what he needs to be doing, full time.  Stay away from the field of play.  Let the folks that know how to build a team work on that, without interference.  The team needs a strong head coach that will make decisions on the field without worrying about what the owner will say.  An example, if an offensive or defensive player keeps getting a couple of penalties a game, bench him and if that doesn’t teach him a lesson, trade him when the time comes.  I don’t care how good he is or thinks he is.  These penalties are hurting the team.  There was no discipline on the 2012 team.  All of you Cowboys fans know that a lot more moves need to be made and I don’t think Jones is going to make them.  If he can fill the stadium with an 8-8 team, why make any big and expensive changes?  What do you all think?  Please click on the bleacherreport.com link below to read ESPN Dallas’ Tim MacMahon’s take on this subject:
