A 3 year old girl who was visiting neighbors was attacked by a pit bull in Plattsmouth, Nebraska on Friday. The child received serious facial injuries. From everything I read, some of these dogs never show signs of aggression until they attack. I wonder why families keep these type of dogs around their kids when there are so many other nice, friendly dogs? As I’ve said before, keeping one of these animals around children is like keeping a loaded, ready to shoot shotgun in the same room with an unattended child. Please click on the following link to read the story: Below that link is a comment regarding a previous post concerning a pit bull attack. She says a pit bull is less aggressive than hound dogs and toy dogs. huh? You make the call. Is her child safe around that animal? Would you leave your child alone with that breed of dog? I wouldn’t.

Anyone who believes that an entire breed of dogs should be banned is narrowminded. I have an APBT , which is the correct name for this breed. Not “Pit Bull” as the media & other ignorant people have called them. My APBT is our pet. He loves and is affectionate to my 3 year old. I KNOW that he is not aggressive. The fact that the media and gullible people have sensationalized the belief that all APBTs are aggressive is absolutely apauling. Also, the majority of the time, dogs are labeled “pit bulls” when in fact they are not APBT or may be a mixed breed that resembles an APBT. If you look up studies done by NON-BIASED doctors, you will see that they are actually less agressive than Hound dogs and Toy dogs. What should be banned are the owners that have used their dogs as weapons!!
