TEXAS WHITE TAIL DEER RUT – PREDICTABLE

The photo above is of an 11 point white tail deer that was harvested last year at my son’s place.  Note the weird non-typical antlers.  Well, it won’t be long before the 2010-11 white tail deer season begins in Texas.  August, possibly the hottest month of the year is when most hunters start preparing.  It’s time to go to the deer lease and check the deer blinds and feeders.  Watch out for snakes!  I found the following link explaining the rut on a Texas Parks and Wildlife site.  Click below to read some interesting information:
