Wharton High School won the Texas Region IV Boys Golf Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas. The two day tournament was played at the Gabe Lozano Golf Center on Monday and Tuesday. Tyler Kolb of Sinton was the top medalist with a 71-72-143. The Wharton team was led by second place medalist Branden Rachunek with a 71-75-146. The top three team coaches are Wharton, Terry Freese, Fredericksburg, Janie Suhnieder and West Oso Corpus Christi, Felipe Garcia. The good looking gentleman shown in several photos in the dark suit is Region IV Director Richard Avila.
