Liz Hernandez, the Refugio High School power lifter won the Texas Class 2A 181 pound division gold medal at the Texas High School women’s Powerlifting Association state meet at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi on Friday, March 19. Three San Diego, Texas high school powerlifters also won individual Class 2A state titles. They are: Senior Natalie Luna, 220 plus weight class, she also won state last year. Junior Junelee Vasquez won the 97 pound weight class and Junior Alyssa Peralez won the 220 pound class. San Diego also won the 2A state team title. Hebronville High School took second.
